This is a permanent commitment once you choose a line.
Which iO model should I get if I’ve decided on the iO line?
The iO Series 5 for most people. It includes 5 cleaning modes, an interactive display, and a travel case at a price point that doesn’t require app dependency to justify. The iO 7G is worth the premium specifically if you have gum health issues and will use the AI tracking features. The iO 3 is the right choice only if you want the magnetic drive feel but want to spend as little as possible within the iO ecosystem.
How long do Oral-B electric toothbrush batteries last?
The Pro 1000 and Smart 1500 use NiMH batteries that last approximately 7 days per charge. The iO line uses lithium-ion batteries that last approximately 14 days. The iO batteries also charge faster and maintain their capacity better over the life of the brush.
Do I really need multiple cleaning modes?
For most people, Daily Clean mode handles everyday brushing. Sensitive mode is genuinely useful if you have inflamed gums or have recently had dental work. Whitening mode provides a slightly different cleaning pattern for surface stains. Modes beyond these three — Intense, Super Sensitive, Tongue — serve narrow use cases.
