The Fitment Registry · Replacement brush head compatibility

Philips Sonicare.

Philips publishes a full compatibility table. Almost every modern Sonicare handle takes the same click-on heads — but Philips One and the old screw-on lines are separate systems that do not interchange with it. Kids heads are the asymmetric case: Philips says they fit all click-on handles too, but the Kids handles themselves only take kids heads.

Not sure which model you own? Philips says it plainly: the model number is printed on the bottom of the handle — flip it over to check.

Sonicare click-on brush heads (C1, C2, C3, G2, G3, W and similar snap-on heads) §

Manufacturer-confirmed

Philips' compatibility table lists one shared click-on head system across its modern handle families. If your handle is in any series below, click-on heads fit it.

Sonicare 1000–4000 (incl. 4100)
PC0810, HX364x, HX365x, HX366x, PC0815, HX367x, HX368x, HX369x
ProtectiveClean / Optimal Clean (incl. 5100, 6100)
HX680x–HX686x
ExpertClean / ExpertResults
HX960x, HX961x, HX962x, HX751x
Sonicare 5000–7000
HX710x, HX711x, HX740x–HX742x
DiamondClean
HX9330, HX9340, HX9350, HX9360, HX9370, HX938x, HX939x
DiamondClean 9000
HX991x
DiamondClean Smart
HX992x, HX993x
Prestige 9900
HX999x

Does not cover: Not listed for Philips One, Sonicare for Kids handles, or the old screw-on lines (see their own rows).

Philips’ own caveat: model numbers ending in "x" stand for a color letter that varies by device. And if you’re weighing C2 vs C3: both are click-on heads, so the answer above is identical for both.

Sonicare for Kids brush heads §

Manufacturer-confirmed

Philips designs its Kids heads for children's brushing — but its page is explicit that they also fit all click-on adult handles. The narrow side is the handles: Philips' click-on table does not list the Kids handles, so a kids handle takes kids heads.

Sonicare for Kids handles
HX6320, HX6340, HX6350; Design a Pet Edition HX360x
All click-on handles (per Philips' own note)
any handle series in the click-on table above

Does not cover: The reverse is what the source does not support: Philips' click-on table does not list the Kids handles, so we make no claim that adult click-on heads fit them.

Correction 2026-07-03: an earlier version of this row called kids heads a separate system. Philips' own page says otherwise, and we fixed it the day it was caught — the correction is logged in the registry file.

Sonicare screw-on brush heads (legacy) §

Manufacturer-confirmed

Older Sonicare handles use screw-on heads, not click-on. Philips still lists them for two legacy families.

Xtreme
HX3300, HX3500
Essence / Essence+
HX5610, HX5611, HX5620, HX3230x, HX3260x

Does not cover: Different mounting systems: Philips lists screw-on heads only for these two families, and neither family appears in its click-on table.

If you own an Essence, check the head type before buying — this is the single most common Sonicare mis-buy.

Common questions

Do all Sonicare brush heads fit all Sonicare handles?

Most modern handles share one click-on system, but not all: Philips One and the older screw-on lines are separate, and kids heads are one-directional — they fit click-on handles, but kids handles only take kids heads. See the entry ↑

About these rows

Every row restates the manufacturer's own published documentation in our words, with the source linked and the check dated. We never copy their tables, and we never fill gaps by inference — a vague source is rendered as vague. If a row links a replacement part, it is the brand's own product listing (not a third-party compatible) and it clears our standing review floor; the link is an affiliate link and is marked.

What the chips mean: Manufacturer-confirmed — the maker's own documentation lists these exact models (not that any manufacturer reviewed or endorsed this page); Manufacturer rule — derived from a general compatibility rule they publish, not a per-model list; Third-party claim — a seller's claim, rendered as theirs, never as a confirmed fit.
